Nash & Proper
The first month of managing Nash and Proper’s Instagram I was able to increase the monthly engagement rate to 4.89% versus the month prior.
Additionally, I increased the accounts reached by 66.7% versus the months prior. The month of April I achieved a 10.5% engagement rate. Although knowledge of video editing was paramount, equally so was knowing our audience and trends surrounding them. Utilizing Instagram’s statistical insights I created the appropriate content for our audience.

I generated a 144% increase in engagement versus the month before being hired.
Although I had used Adobe in the past for creative work, I soon learned in the form of social media content creation it is fairly inefficient. Yes you will get an infinitely wider array of possibilities to create what you want, but the key to social media content creation is consistency. I found it best to capture, edit, and post all within the phone.
This video on made to promote our presence at local Sacramento events was the last video I made for Nash & Proper using the Adobe suite. Although I’m proud of the outcome of the video, I could achieve the same reach and engagement using a more efficient means using Instagram’s built-in video editor or CapCut.
Aggie Reuse Store
At UC Davis’ on-campus thrift store I managed a team of five volunteers to create bi-weekly Mailchimp newsletters.
My hobby of thrifting somehow lead me to composing newsletters in Mailchimp. Articles were bite-sized and pertained to sustainability, thrifting, or UC Davis.
Alongside this I collaborated across various teams to formulate promotional events such as during our beet root tie-dying event or discount scavenger hunt.
Sustainable Contra Costa
My creative journey started with creating informational videos to be posted on social media platforms for a local sustainability nonprofit. This was a few years before TikTok or other forms of short form vertical video so these videos were posted to YouTube and Instagram.
Before this I really only had used Adobe After Effects and Premiere for high school projects. I took this opportunity to teach myself video editing.
Additionally, I managed the e-newsletter team comprised of four to six high school volunteers, we were responsible for monthly content. I facilitated newsletter creation utilizing Canva.
Every month I facilitated, critiqued, and compiled the creation of content for each newsletter. Knowing that middle-aged adults in Contra Costa County mostly comprised our email list, it was important that I adjusted the writing tone and vernacular to best suit the audience.
