My projects include…
a lot of fails accompanied by a lot of learning. I understand the best through first-hand experience and I think it’s important in team scenarios to be sympathetic of team members. That is why I have undertook projects adjacent to my career path.
Starting with WordPress
I figured it in best practice to have a portfolio online to hold my works. However, I had minimal knowledge of HTML or CSS or even website design. My first website, which I made using WordPress, was very barebones. I knew I would revamp the site later down the line.
The basics of HTML and CSS
Knowing that website development and marketing have an overlap, I thought it would be appropriate to become knowledgeable about what website development entails. I took a free responsive web design course provided by freeCodeCamp to educate myself on HTML and CSS.
Figma felt intuitive
Designing a website is a lot more than meets the eye. I soon learned the limitations that I should set for myself when creating my website. For starters, everything is about rectangles… Knowing the constraint given by my limited coding knowledge, I knew my design had to be simple and organized.
Putting everything together
I circled back to where it all began — WordPress! However, this time I knew more about how web design worked. I now knew how to respect and manipulate the rectangles it provided me.

My little brother loves Minecraft so we decided to start our own Minecraft content creation. Some tools I use are Buffer for scheduling, Premiere Pro for video editing, and OBS for streaming and video capture. Follow us on our socials!
Social Media Portfolio
After my internship at Nash and Proper, I decided to document my social media skills into a pdf. I attempted to become a freelance social media manager for restaurants nearby where I live and used this as my proof of work. Unfortunately, no offers were sent my way, but I am still proud of the work I did to create the portfolio and effort I put in to outreach to local businesses. I utilized Illustrator to create this document.

By the latter half of my college career I was heavily involved in the large thrifting scene of Davis. I turned my hobby into a sidehustle and I created my own thrifting brand — going to Sacramento thrift stores to source clothes, selling at the Davis art market, and marketing on Instagram. Although a minuscule scale operation, running this brand put into perspective the different branches of a business and how they overlap.
